Retaining a lawyer on an hourly basis to resolve your matter from start to finish can get expensive, which is why we provide specific legal services on an à la carte basis. This allows you to retain our office to represent you only on a specific portion of your matter, for instance, one court application, or a hearing. This type of retainer may be more feasible given that you choose what services you want. See below the services we offer under this type of retainer*:
Morning Chambers Application†
(incl. Family Docket Court) $1,500 – $3,000

Includes: initial one-hour meeting to review the matter and gather details, preparation of court documents, representation at one court appearance and preparation of order(s) resulting therefrom.
Special Chambers Hearing
$5,000+
Includes: initial one-hour meeting to review the matter and gather details, preparation of court documents, representation at the Hearing and preparation of order(s) resulting therefrom.

* GST & disbursements (court filing fees, process server, etc.) are not included in the quoted legal fees. Fees are subject to change without notice and may increase based on the complexity of the issue(s); additional charges will be discussed prior to incurring the same. A retainer equivalent to 1⁄2 of the estimated fee will be required at the initial meeting, and the remainder of the fee will be required prior to the hearing / court application the final meeting upon review of documents. A retainer is an expression of trust, confidence, and commitment.
† The amount ultimately charged is contingent upon, among other facts, the complexity of issue(s), disclosure analysis, drafting of cross- applications and volume of supporting evidence. Additional fees will be charged for any negotiations, additional drafting, correspondence between parties, additional disclosure review, additional court appearances, or other additional work. You will be advised of said additional charges prior to incurring the same.
